The South Caucasus is a region rich in history and culture and home to three fascinating capitals along the Old Silk Road. Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, is a vibrant metropolis full of contrasts on the Caspian Sea, known for its ancient "inner city", impressive architecture and vibrant cultural scene. Tbilisi, the dynamic capital of Georgia, is a charming city with a rich history on the banks of the Mtkvari River and was one of the richest cities of the Middle Ages, which was also enthusiastically reported by Marco Polo. Yerevan, the capital of Armenia with a medieval heart, is a city older than Rome, located at the foot of the Ararat Mountains.

If you are looking for a destination that combines ancient history and modernity, vibrant culture and varied untouched nature, then you should consider the South Caucasus and its three capitals. If you are also enthusiastic about culinary delights and natural wines, then there is no way around the region. The three cities have something to offer for everyone and they are all worth a visit.
