There, you'll meet a member of our friendly team who will share an introduction to Cambodia and the incredible journey you have ahead. In the afternoon, an expert tour leader will guide you through the heart of Siem Reap, a vibrant city pulsing with life. Explore busy markets and streets and visit a magnificent pagoda. Here, you'll gain an insight into Cambodian Buddhism and have the opportunity to receive a blessing from a resident monk.
The evening is free for you to unwind or explore the city further at your own pace.

After breakfast, your guide will meet you for a tour of the Angkor National Museum. This insightful visit perfectly introduces the incredible temples you'll explore tomorrow. Next, we head to a fascinating workshop to meet skilled artisans showcasing traditional Cambodian crafts. After lunch, explore a gem from the early days of Khmer architecture. The Roluos Group is a collection of four monuments just outside Siem Reap. These temples are the remnants of Hariharalaya, the first capital of the Khmer Empire from the late 9th century. Today, the Roluos Group is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spend the afternoon exploring, then return to your hotel in the city for a free evening.

Bid farewell to Siem Reap after breakfast this morning and embark on another adventure to Beng Melea, a captivating 12th-century temple hidden in the jungle. Witness its towering walls cloaked in vegetation with winding tree roots and vibrant mosses. Next, we journey to Koh Ker, the short-lived but mighty capital of the Khmer Empire from 928 to 944 CE. This UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts impressive architecture but is often overlooked by travellers because of its secluded location – a true insider's discovery. As we travel to Sra Em, keep your cameras ready to capture breathtaking scenery along the way. On arrival at your accommodation, unwind and enjoy the facilities.

Preah Vihear - Kampong Thom

Rise bright and early, and fuel up at breakfast for the ascent to the majestic Preah Vihear Temple. This architectural marvel, perched atop the Dangrek Mountains on the Cambodian-Thai border, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and boasts breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Construction of the temple began in the 9th century and continued throughout the Khmer Empire period. Spend a few hours exploring the intricate carvings, galleries and sanctuaries that make up this magnificent complex. After descending from Preah Vihear Temple, we'll embark on a scenic drive to Kampong Thom. In the afternoon, arrive at your hotel, where you can unwind poolside.

Sambor Prei Kuk - Siem Reap
Tag 8: Ancient architectural wonders
Today's adventure takes us to Sambor Prei Kuk, the final UNESCO World Heritage temple of the journey. After breakfast, we'll embark on a scenic drive along winding roads before reaching this hidden temple complex nestled in the lush Cambodian forest. Also known as Isanapura, Sambor Prei Kuk was the capital of the Chenla Kingdom, a powerful kingdom that flourished in Southeast Asia from the 6th to the 9th centuries CE. En route back to Siem Reap, we'll stop at Kampong Kdei, home to one of the largest bridges constructed during the Angkor era, and still in use today.
