Rajasthan’s Hidden Gem – Bundi

|

Something of a hidden gem, Bundi is a great place to escape the crowds and explore somewhere a bit lower key than Rajasthan’s other highlights. Whilst it’s a small town whose importance has declined over the centuries, Bundi in Indialike many places in Rajasthan it still has a fort and a wonderfully crumbling grand palace to explore, with some stunning murals, which are slowly being restored.

The town is great to just wander around, soaking up the atmosphere, witnessing local artisans at work, all without the crowds or touts that can blight other Indian cities. One night is sufficient, and a visit here fits in well between Jaipur and Udaipur (or between Ranthambore National Park and Udaipur if seeing the tigers).
