Glamping the Garden Route (self-drive)

You will see and enjoy the most beautiful parts of the country and learn everything about the typical South African products that the farms produce, or fauna and flora they preserve. All of this can be enjoyed from the well known wood-fired hot tubs, whilst enjoying a typical South African Braai (every tent has its own built in braai). Starting and finishing in Cape Town, make the most of a self-drive trip along the most scenic terrain in the country. Route 62 leads you to Oudtshoorn where the diversity in landscapes and flora will astound you. Visit the world famous Cango Caves and soak in a sparkling blue pool back at camp in the hot afternoons. Next, visit Plettenberg Bay, the heart of the Garden Route. Spend days exploring the region, the forests, beaches, fine restaurants, wildlife sanctuaries and a wealth of wonder that will leave lasting impressions. The last three nights are spent in Stanford, close to Hermanus in the Overberg. Glamping at one of the areas above protea and wine farms, if you can bear to leave your camp, there is much to explore in the area. This itinerary includes many fun activities and would suit a family well.
