Combine sailing and walking on an adventure around the islands of the Ionian coast.
The Ionian islands are a cluster of dazzling islands scattered in the Ionian Sea, west of mainland Greece. From their natural beauty, cooler climate, abundant olive groves, cypress trees and lush forested mountains and landscapes, to world famous vast sandy beaches, crystal clear turquoise waters, cheerful and welcoming inhabitants with their rich cultural heritage…these Greek islands will fascinate you.
During the sailing and walking week you will also have the opportunity to experience the unique nature and landscapes of these small, off the beaten track islands by walking their ancient paths. We'll walk along mountain tops offering breathtaking views down to the Ionian sea, through traditional villages, Byzantine and ancient settlements, and will reach virgin beaches where you can rest and have a refreshing swim.
The walks are chosen based on the level of our guest, but in general they are on the easy to mid-level range. There are 1-hour to 3-hour walks with stops on the way to rest and explore the sites you'll be visiting. This is not a challenging trekking trip but an opportunity to walk and explore the islands we visit, experiencing their nature, culture and history.
As with all sailing trips, there will be a fee of around €90 to pay in cash at the end of your trip to cover fuel, skipper, marina fees and so forth.
This itinerary is designed for a private group.

The most popular areas of Greece are likely to be very busy during the peak summer season months of July and August, while some of the lesser known destinations may be at their festive best at this time and a bit too quiet and inaccessible outside the height of summer. Bear in mind that the high summer brings with it some scorching temperatures, and 40°C is not uncommon at the hottest part of the day.
If the heat and the crowds don’t appeal, aim instead for the shoulder seasons. April to June and September to October are great times to plan your bespoke holiday in Greece, and the southern islands in particular can offer plentiful blue skies and warm sun at both ends of this range.
Spring (April, May) is a beautiful season to explore with wildflowers in abundance, though the sea can be chilly. Warmer water temperatures await in autumn (September, October) and this is also a good time for local festivals.
Winter is a good time for sightseeing on the mainland providing you are not put off by showers, but with strong winds, closed facilities and skeleton services on ferries it can be a tricky time to visit all but the most populous Greek islands.
