September update from our founders

News from HQ – September

September is here – the days are getting shorter, the autumn rains have come and the temperature is dropping with each passing week. Understandably it’s therefore our busiest time of year!

We have been working hard on our brand new website – 43 destinations around the world and counting!

This month the community has grown to include the Galapagos Islands. You can also now download PDFs of trip itineraries – handy for when you’re on the road! September feels like a good time to be thinking about somewhere warmer and drier but don’t write off autumn elsewhere in the north – Georgia, Armenia, China, Uzbekistan and Iran are all wonderful in October too.

Our foundersA better way to see the world

A running theme for us in the coming months is how to travel in a responsible way. We think this whole topic is in need of a reboot, starting with where money goes, and why.

Ethical and responsible travel brings out some strong opinions and TravelLocal is working to ensure a fairer deal for our customers and our local operators alike. We are working closely with our experts to set out principles of how to travel in a way that benefits the destination as much as possible.

Office move

We have finally moved office – to Bristol, in South West England. The best thing about being here is how well connected it is. If you are ever passing through and want to say hello we have a huge yurt with a restaurant inside (yes – a yurt) right next to our building – very appropriate!

Feedback

Got opinions on our new site? Please do send them over to us, we always like to hear what our customers think.

The best email, as always, is team@travellocal.com. Or you can give us a call on+44 (0) 1865 242 709.
