Visit San Andrés - known as the destination with the seven color sea - and Providencia, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. Providencia, known also as “Seaflower”, is an island seven miles long and four miles wide at its widest part, located 90 miles north of San Andrés. With its secluded white-sand beaches and primitive landscapes, Providencia has become an ideal place for enjoying nature, engaging in water sports, or simply relaxing.
The island offers visitors a perfect coral reef, the second largest in the Caribbean, and one of the richest on the planet in regard to marine biodiversity. For this reason, this island of only 4,000 inhabitants attracts the attention of divers from all over the world, who arrive to explore the crevices, caves, and huge walls that make up the reef.

Equatorial proximity ensures consistent temperatures, although the diversity of landscape means that there is climatic variation depending on location. The most reliably dry season throughout the country runs from December to March, which is also a busy period for festivals and celebrations. Domestic tourism is a force to be reckoned with in Colombia, so if you wish to time your visit to coincide with any of the major events or national holidays (particularly Christmas and Easter) it would be wise to plan ahead.
