This 12-day tour to Nicaragua immerses you in the country's wonderful natural surroundings, providing great opportunities to spot its diverse wildlife. Go birdwatching in the Montebelli Wildlife Reserve, home to more than 168 species of birds, then head to the wetlands of Juan Venado - a fantastic bird nesting region. Scale the volcanic slopes to the Mombacho crater, keeping your eyes peeled for monkeys and the endemic salamander, before heading to Ometepe Island. Here you can hike in the Peña Inculta Reserve, using a trail looked after by a cooperative of women who are striving to protect the biodiversity of the area. Throughout the tour there is plenty of time for relaxing, whether that's taking a boat tour, cooling off in freshwater pools or diving into the Pacific Ocean.
