Ever dreamt of climbing the highest mountain in Africa? This climb along the popular Machame Route will be an experience you will never forget! The Machame Route features incredibly beautiful scenery, is great for acclimatisation and is not as expensive as some other routes. This is due to its easy access from the town of Moshi, with only a 45-minute drive to reach the starting point. The Machame Route is most commonly done over 6 or 7 days. The longer the climb, the more time your body has to acclimatise to the mountain and the high altitudes. The success rate on Machame Route is extremely high, and most visitors can enjoy the experience of making it to the peak. Hike during the day and use the night to sleep - this allows your body to adjust to the altitude and have the strength to make it to the summit.

Tanzania is warm to hot all year-round, with wetter weather dominating from March to May. The Wildebeest Migration occurs in January or February, and this is widely regarded as high season. The months that make up “the long rains”, March to May, can involve intense daily downpours. June, July and August are dry, with highs of around 27°C and lows of 18°C ideal for the beach or cultural exploration. September and October are better for safari, though – the drier landscape brings animals into the open at watering holes.
